Motor Impact Validation
Motor Impact Validation
As it stands, if your motor policyholder has an accident and damages a domestic or commercial property, the property insurer will repair the insured property and then attempt to recover the cost from you. Or the property owner submits two repair estimates to you and you cash settle on the lower quote.
Either way, the value of the repair cost is unlikely to be in your favour — unless you appoint Lanes Assistance Service to validate the claim.
Our report covers the damaged area only, and doesn’t include any betterment or work which is not related to the claim. And, it could reduce your claim outlay significantly.
Example
Your policyholder has crashed into a wall. The property owner submits a quotation to repair the wall of £2000.
You appoint Lanes Assistance Services to:
- • make sure the claim is valid
- • ensure that the estimate of £2000 is all claim related
• check that no betterment is included
- • submit our own (often lower) quote for the work
Lanes Assistance Services’ contractor advises that £500 worth of the work is not related to the impact of the car because the wall was in poor condition and showing signs of wear and tear. Then our contractor submits a quote of £1300 for the accident repair work. Result? You save £700, and have our report and supporting photographs as validation.
Lanes Assistance Services charges a one-off inspection and report fee for this service, regardless of the saving.
