Lanes’ newcomer nets another award - June 2009



The Lanes Group’s newest company — Lanes Assistance Services (LAS) — has been recognised for its revolutionary use of technology in the 2009 Salford Business Awards. The company was runner up in the technology section.

Established just two years ago, LAS handles insurance claims on behalf of insurance companies and has successfully developed a unique market leading, technology-driven service, which reduces typical settlement times compared to other insurance service providers.

With LAS’ system, cash settlement typically takes just 3-4 days, compared to up to 29 days through existing channels. Similarly, the time for repairs to be completed has been slashed to an average of 16-33 days rather than 38-75 days.

Tim Walker of LAS explains: “We use a web-based claim management system designed to capture data from the risk address, using a digital pen, annodated paper* and a mobile phone. This means that data is processed within minutes and a fully costed report, estimate and photographs sent to the authorisation team and/or insurer before the surveyor even leaves site.”

This technological approach has secured the company an impressive eight national contracts in the last year.

LAS is delighted to receive an award so early stage in the company’s development. Says Tim: “Last year we won an Insurance Industry Award, and this is further acknowledgement of the hard work that the team has put into creating such an innovative and unique solution — and in revolutionising the claims industry.

“Winning is nothing without recognition, and a runner-up award from the Salford Business Awards is a great honour. It gives LAS the perfect platform from which to continue to grow and develop.

Lanes Assistance Services might be the newest member of the Lanes Group of companies, but it’s wasted no time in teaming up with other divisions which offer appropriate specialist services.

 

Active Hygiene Services, for instance, offers a whole host of extraordinary cleaning services — including emergency clean ups following fire, flood or vandalism. To show the link up, the newest Active vehicle sports both its own and the LAS branding — along with some eye-catching flames to finish off the design.
